KAREN HOOD-SIMPSON MEMORIAL
OUTDOOR DESTINATION STORY AWARDS
Karen Hood-Simpson was a longtime member and great proponent of Missouri Outdoor Communicators. Most of our members will remember Karen for tirelessly promoting Pulaski County and being a wonderful host when MOC held its 2016 annual conference in St. Robert. She was always a joy to work with and a joy to be around.
In addition to Karen's role of promoting Pulaski County for 13 years as the Marketing Relations Manager for the Pulaski County Tourism Bureau, she was a Master Naturalist, an integral and instrumental founding member of the Roubidoux Grotto club and an invaluable proponent of Missouri's outdoors.
The Karen Hood-Simpson Memorial Outdoor Destination Story Awards are presented annually to two MOC members that produce the best content promoting our previous conference and media camp hosts as outstanding outdoor destinations worth visiting in Missouri.
Submissions should be made to Kyle Stewart and must be submitted no later than May 5, 2024 for consideration. Winners will be announced at the 2024 Missouri Outdoor Communicators Conference.
Stories can be in any medium and there is no length limit. Stories may be submitted to Kyle Stewart, MOC Executive Director, any time throughout the year, but the deadline is May 5, 2024. Judging will be conducted by the host city, MOC ED and MOC President.
